About Me

    As a college student, I know firsthand that many students rely on the Internet to form ideas and obtain information about the texts they read. My goal is to assist in making the usage of the Internet a positive thing. My name is Samantha, and this is the first blog I have ever created. I am currently a second semester senior at George Mason University, but my heart lies in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My passion is to become a secondary English teacher. I am constantly searching for new ways to understand the texts that I am reading and new ways to facilitate literary growth for my future classrooms. I will also be creating activities for the classroom that are centered around visuals and texts working together. My focus in Language Arts for Secondary Education has allowed me to learn what works best in classrooms, and I have also had a multitude of experience in making text-to-text connections from my education classes. This is helpful for understanding prominent features of genres of literature, and it is also helpful for future teachers for class instruction.
